Srikalahasti is one of the greatest piligrimage of Hindu.The presiding deity of the Srikalahasti is Lord Shiva.The temple is considered as Rahu-Ketu kshetra and Dakshina Kasi.The inner temple was constructed around 5th century and the outer temple was constructed in the 12th century by the Chola kings and the Vijayanagara kings.Lord Shiva in his aspect as Vayu is worshiped as Kalahasteeswara.Temple is located in Chittoor District of Andhra Pradesh State.

The temple is well connected with Roadways.

One can feel the presence of Lord Shiva by visiting the ancient temple.Swarnamukhi river flows nearby the temple. The aarti is well performed and the devotees are drawn from all corners of the World.

Two major shrines within the temple complex dedicated to Lord Shiva and Parvati.Lord Siva exists in the form of Linga facing West .The Linga  bears the name Srikalahasteeswara.Parvati is in the standing posture facing East and is called by the name Gnana Prasunamba.There is a small shrine dedicated to Dakshinamurthy at the entrance of the temple who is regarded as one of the forms of Lord Shiva.Other than these there are many deities and idols dedicated to  lord Venkateswara, Vinayaka, Nataraja, Subramanya, Surya Narayana and also replica of Lingas of other famous Shiva temples all over India.


During the festival of Lord Mahasivaratri the temple is well decorated and special programmes are conducted.The happiness who derives after having the darshan gives immense peace to body and soul.The temple has got a large premises and can accommodate much devotees.Visiting the temple in the early morning and having the Prasad is a wonderful experience in itself.
 

The three devotees of Lord Shiva namely the Sri `Spider’ Kala `Snake’ and Hasti `Elephant’ used to perform their prayers at the feet of Lord Shiva.After their soul departure the temple got the name of SriKalahasti.There is a Vinayak temple where one can pray for the well being of self and other family members.
 

The temple is located in a small town and the temple is well maintained by the temple authorities.The daily puja is very well organized.Local people generally sell coconuts, fruits and other items near the temple.It is believed that one who performs the puja at the temple is blessed by the Lord Shiva.
 

Two other famous temples Tirupati and Kanipaka Vinayak Temple is located very near where one can have a visit.The temple is opened at the early morning and kept till afternoon and the evening aarti is worth watching.The wonderful construction of the structure speaks about the architectural efficiency to its best.
 

Nothing is impossible.Where there is a will , there is a way.One can certainly pay a visit to the temple and can enjoy the marvelous beauty of the structure and offer puja.

Lord shiva is universally worshipped for giving prosperity and peace in one's life. One can get salvation by praying and enchanting his name and also devoting sometime through mediating upon. Lord shiva is worshipped along with goddess parvati and ganesh. Making the life beautiful through the blessing of lord shiva can really enjoyed.

There are 12 jyotirlingas where the presence of lord shiva can be felt. Nothing is impossible. One can spend some time in developing the self through devotion .
